How it works

Three steps from scattered data to a prepared visit.

Add your lab results, vitals, and how you feel. Northstar explains each number in plain English, shows gentle trends, and prepares a clean summary so your next appointment is ready before it starts.

The three steps

Simple enough to use right after a lab appointment.

Northstar is built to fit into the moments when you actually have health data in hand, not to add a daily habit.

01

Add your labs, vitals, and how you feel.

Type values by hand, paste text from a lab report or patient portal, or upload a PDF or photo. Northstar reads all three and pulls in the numbers automatically. You do not need to use a special form.

You pasted

“HbA1c 5.9%, Total Cholesterol 214 mg/dL, Fasting Glucose 102 mg/dL. Felt tired this week.”

Northstar found: HbA1c, total cholesterol, fasting glucose, and a symptom note.

02

Northstar explains each number and shows trends.

Each lab value gets a plain-language explanation, a reference range, and a clear in-range or out-of-range marker. As you add more results over time, Northstar draws a gentle trend line so you can see which direction things are heading.

Northstar explained

“HbA1c of 5.9% sits in the pre-diabetes range (normal is below 5.7%). Your result from three months ago was 5.7%.”

Discussion point prepared: ask your doctor about monitoring frequency.

03

Walk into your visit prepared.

Northstar prepares a clean, one-page visit summary: your recent labs, any values outside range, a trend view where available, and one or two prepared questions grounded in your results. Copy it, export it, or share it directly with your care team.

Your summary includes

“HbA1c trend (3 months), cholesterol panel, fasting glucose, one prepared discussion point.”

Your doctor said: "This is exactly what I needed to see."

Three ways to add your data

Get your numbers in however they come.

Type values by hand

Enter individual values as you get them. Northstar knows what HbA1c, LDL, eGFR, TSH, and dozens of other markers are.

Paste from a report or portal

Copy the text from your patient portal result or a printed report and paste it in. Northstar extracts the values and labels automatically.

Upload a PDF or photo

Lab PDF from your clinic, a scanned printout, or a photo of a results page. Northstar reads it and pulls in the numbers.

Over time

What a few weeks with Northstar looks like.

After your labs

Add your results

You paste your lab report. Northstar pulls in eight values and explains each one. HbA1c is flagged as borderline and a discussion point is prepared.

Two weeks later

Add a vitals check

You enter blood pressure and resting heart rate from a routine check. Northstar places them in context: both in range, no trend yet.

Six weeks later

Second labs are in

Your quarterly HbA1c is back. Northstar draws the first trend: 5.7% then 5.9%, moving up slightly. The trend is noted, calmly, without alarm.

Visit morning

Your summary is ready

One page. Two lab panels, a trend view, blood pressure over six weeks, and one prepared question for your doctor. Ready to share.

Northstar explains. Your care team decides.

At no point does Northstar tell you what a result means for your diagnosis, suggest changing a medication, or replace a conversation with your doctor. If a value or symptom sounds urgent, Northstar will tell you plainly to seek care. Northstar is a tool for understanding and organizing your health data, not a substitute for clinical care.
